Mr & Mrs J.W Singers Efficiency Scroll 2010

•A National Award awarded annually for up to two nominees.
•The Award is for service to the Association in the field of farming activities, administration and social activities.
 

Christina Jordan - Willowhaugh Jerseys, Blenheim
Nominated by Marlborough Jersey Club


Christina Jordan has been associated with the Jersey breed all of her life. She has been a partner of Willowhaugh Jerseys with her father Ian since 1986. The stud has won numerous Production Awards at both regional and National level over the years.

Christina is a well respected member of the Marlborough Jersey Club. She has been Secretary/Treasurer from 1991 to the present day and was a key organiser for the 1996 AGM in Blenheim. The job she takes on is very large and includes organising field days and meetings, and ensuring communication to members is ongoing.

Christina has been showing Jersey cattle all of her life from School pet days and A&P Shows at Nelson, Golden Bay & Rai Valley to the Royal Show and NZ Dairy Event week. Willowhaugh Jerseys have won many Championships in the Jersey and All Breeds sections of such competitions

Willowhaugh Jerseys is classified each year and Christina is a well respected qualified Jersey New Zealand Judge and also a judge for Southdown Sheep.

Christina has always taken a keen interest in the affairs of Jersey New Zealand and regularly attends AGM & Conferences. She is an avid supporter of the Jersey Pride sale. Willowhaugh Jerseys enter on farm competitions and Christina always makes sure there are prizes for place getters at the end of the day.

Christina has studied extramurally through Open Polytechnic while still working full time on the farm. She has achieved a high level of success and had graduated with a National Certificate in Business, a National Diploma in Accountancy and a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting.

Christina has been involved in the Young Farmer movement for many years. She is currently the President of the NZ Southdown Sheep society. Both Christina and her sister Suzanna have shown Dahlia Flowers at A&P Shows. The Jordan home has been pen to club members for many meetings and Club gatherings in the past.

The Marlborough Jersey Club has great pleasure in nominating Christina for the JW Singers Efficiency Scroll for 2010.

 

 Rob Farley - Pacific Jerseys, Te Aroha
Nominated by Te Aroha Jersey Club

Robert James Farley has been associated with the breeding of pedigree Jerseys all of his life.
He currently owns Pacific Jerseys and comes from a Jersey Breeders background.

Robert is a hard working member of the Te Aroha Jersey Club. He has been with our club for the last nine years after moving from the Wairarapa region. He introduces new members to our club and continues to keep in contact with them.

Robert usually classifiers his pedigrees, is a qualified Jersey New Zealand judge and can be found volunteering his services as an announcer at Club or A&P Shows as required.

Robert is a great breed promoter. He was involved with the organisation with this year’s Jersey New Zealand AGM & Conference. He is a dependable member of any group he is involved in and is thorough in completing tasks assigned to him.

Last year Robert made his property available for the inaugural Waikato Invitational Sale. The club also held their annual BBQ tea at his home where we enjoyed his wonderfully kept garden.

Robert always makes an effort to attend Jersey Club field days and trips and is a great asset in organising sponsorship for these events.

The Te Aroha Jersey Club have great pleasure in nominating Robert for the JW Singers Efficiency Scroll for 2010.
